The Brevard NOW Board will present the following addendum proposal to members at the July 11, 2017 meeting and will bring it to a vote at the August meeting.

Brevard NOW - Proposed Addendum to By-laws:

 

Brevard NOW’s mission is to establish a safe and inclusive environment for ALL individuals where we can share our own experiences and discuss sensitive issues without fear of being harassed or bullied. 

 

Brevard NOW has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY regarding harassment or bullying of any kind, including but not limited to (in no specific order):  disruption of panels, meetings, conferences or other events, stalking, intimidation, offensive verbal comments, physical assault and/or battery, harassing or non-consensual photography or recording, bathroom policing, inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome physical attention in relation to, but not limited to (in no specific order):  race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender presentation, sexual orientation, age, body size, disability, appearance, religion, citizenship or pregnancy.

 

When a situation arises that violates our zero tolerance policy, members are asked to report to Board members or if a Board member(s) witnesses. The person or person(s) involved will be asked to stop. If they continue the behavior, they will be asked to leave the meeting or event. If this person or person(s) keep(s) up the pattern of behavior, the Board can address whether or not to ban them from future meetings, conferences and events.
